Selebritynews.id | Jakarta – BASE Entertainment kembali menggebrak dunia perfilman dengan proyek terbaru yang penuh dengan haru, kejutan dan kolaborasi internasional.

Setelah sukses dengan karya-karya yang mendapatkan pengakuan internasional, seperti serial ikonik Gadis Kretek, film Perempuan Tanah Jahanam dan Malam Pencabut Nyawa, BASE Entertainment siap dengan proyek terbarunya, film Mothernet.

Dalam memproduksi Mothernet, BASE Entertainment berkolaborasi dengan Beacon Films, yang didirikan oleh Dian Sastrowardoyo dan Refinery Media, sebuah rumah produksi dari Singapura.

Selain itu, dalam projek ini BASE Entertainment juga menggandeng Winnie Lau, seorang produser berbasis di Vietnam, yang sebelumnya memproduseri serial netflix, The Thai Cave Rescue. Dian Sastrowardoyo juga menjadi salah satu produser dari proyek ini.

Shanty Harmayn, Pendiri dan Ko-CEO BASE Entertainment mengungkapkan rasa antusiasnya tentang proyek ini. “Mothernet adalah proyek yang sangat dekat dengan hati kami. Kami berharap cerita ini bisa menginspirasi, relevan dan menyentuh hati banyak orang, baik di Indonesia maupun di belahan dunia lain,” ungkapnya.

Film ini disutradarai oleh Wi Ding Ho, sutradara asal Malaysia yang berbasis di Taiwan. Wi Ding sebelumnya meraih penghargaan Sutradara Baru Terbaik di Golden Horse Awards 2010 lewat karya debutnya, Pinoy Sunday.

Ia juga menyutradarai Cities of Last Things yang berhasil mendapatkan banyak penghargaan dan tayang perdana di Festival Film Internasional Toronto 2018. Film tersebut memenangkan Platform Prize, penghargaan untuk film-film dengan nilai artistik tinggi dan dengan visi penyutradaraan yang kuat.

Mothernet adalah sebuah drama keluarga dengan latar belakang teknologi dan isu perubahan iklim. Film ini mengisahkan tentang perjalanan Rama, seorang remaja 16 tahun, yang harus menghadapi kenyataan setelah kecelakaan tragis yang membuat ibunya koma. Dengan bantuan Artificial Intelligence (AI), Rama dan ayahnya berusaha untuk menghadapi kenyataan baru mereka.

Dian Sastrowardoyo, yang sebelumnya dikenal melalui peran-peran kuatnya termasuk di serial Gadis Kretek, kali ini memerankan sosok ibu. Ringgo Agus Rahman, yang telah memikat hati penonton dalam film-film seperti Keluarga Cemara dan Jatuh Cinta Seperti di Film-Film, akan memerankan sosok bapak.

Sementara Ali Fikry, yang dikenal melalui perannya dalam 24 Jam Bersama Gaspar, akan menghidupkan karakter sang anak bernama Rama. Film ini akan menjadi momen kembalinya Dian Sastrowardoyo sebagai pemeran utama wanita setelah perannya di Guru-Guru Gokil pada 2020 lalu.

Dian Sastrowardoyo tidak hanya memerankan karakter utama perempuan dalam Mothernet, tetapi juga turut berperan sebagai produser di belakang layar. Aktris yang baru dinobatkan sebagai nominasi Aktris Terbaik di Seoul Drama Awards 2024 ini berbagi arti mendalam proyek ini bagi dirinya.

“Mothernet adalah film ini sangat istimewa karena menjadi debut Beacon Film dan sebagai pemeran saya kembali mendapatkan tantangan baru untuk memerankan ibu dengan perspektif yang berbeda dan pendekatan karakter yang lebih detail dan mendalam,” ujar Dian.

Mothernet akan menjadi produksi bersama pertama antara BASE dan Refinery Media yang adalah produser terkemuka acara realitas dan gaya hidup yang populer seperti Asia’s Next Top Model.

Film ini akan memanfaatkan teknologi mutakhir di X3D Studio milik Refinery yang baru diluncurkan, studio Virtual Production terbesar di Asia Tenggara. Adegan virtual dalam film ini akan diambil di Singapura, sementara sebagian besar adegan lainnya akan dilakukan di lokasi di Indonesia.

BASE Entertainment, yang dikenal lewat kesuksesan global dengan serial Netflix, Gadis Kretek, terus menghadirkan produksi berkualitas tinggi yang penuh emosi dan menyentuh hatipenonton di seluruh dunia.
