Menandai International Zero Waste Day 2024, 30 (tiga puluh) lembaga/perusahaan di Indonesia menerima anugerah Award4Change. Penghargaan ini merupakan apresiasi dari masyarakat terhadap praktik baik penanganan sampah yang bertanggung jawab dalam inisiatif sirkular ekonomi yang dilaksanakan sepanjang tahun 2023 bersama Waste4Change. Selebrasi Award4Change berlangsung 3-4 April 2024 bertepatan gelar karya Biophilia di ISA Art Gallery, Jakarta.

Jakarta, 4 April 2024 – Award4Change merupakan ajang tahunan yang konsisten diselenggarakan sejak 2020 dengan aktor utama para pemangku kepentingan multi sektor dari mulai kementerian, swasta, BUMN, kedutaan negara sahabat hingga NGO (non-governmental organization). Anugerah Award4Change ke-4 ini menandai International Zero Waste Day 2024 yang ditetapkan Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa (PBB) setiap 30 Maret.  Penghargaan dirilis dalam 8 kategori yaitu: Behaviour Change Project Highlight, A Model of Community Action on Marine Debris Project Highlight, ESG Transformation Project Highlight, Marine Debris Project Highlight, Corporate Responsibility towards Waste Management Project Highlight, Shift Towards Circular Economy Project Highlight, High Recovery Rate Award, Sustainable Brand Award.

Mayoritas peraih penghargaan merupakan kategori High Recovery Rate Award yaitu lembaga dengan tingkat pemulihan sampah yang sangat baik.  Para penerima award telah menjadi bagian dari penyelamatan 16.500 ton sampah tidak berakhir di landfill/TPA (Tempat Pemprosesan Akhir) selama 2023. “Kita hidup nyalakan semangat gotong royong terus menerus untuk penyelesaian sampah di Indonesia,” ujar M. Bijaksana Junerosano, Founder & CEO Waste4Change dalam sambutannya pada Rabu (3/4/2024).  Adapun 10 lembaga dari berbagai kategori penghargaan merupakan inisiator yang berhasil mengembangkan model terbaik dan unik sesuai karakter bisnis mereka untuk mewujudkan misi sustainability serta pemenuhan ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance).  “Terima kasih kepada para teladan yang berkontribusi dalam ekosistem positif, bahu membahu untuk Indonesia yang lebih baik dari mulai pemilahan sampah sejak dari sumber, penerapan rantai pasok yang berkelanjutan, hingga keterlibatan mitra dan konsumen dalam upaya pengurangan dan pengelolaan sampah,” pungkasnya.

Pada hari pertama selebrasi, Rabu (3/4/2024) penerima award berbagi kesan yaitu dari Clean Cities Blue Ocean (CCBO), HM Sampoerna Tbk., The Ocean Cleanup, PT Erha Clinic Indonesia, PT Schlumberger Geophysics Nusantara, PT Rumah Mebel Indonesia (IKEA) dan PT Grahaniaga Tatautama.  Pada hari kedua, Kamis (4/4/2024) hadir berbagi kesan dari Nestlé Indonesia, Kementerian Keuangan RI, Kementerian PUPR RI, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia, Citibank Indonesia, Bank Danamon Indonesia, Danone Indonesia, Indika Energy, PT Nusa Selaras  Indonesia (Nu Skin Indonesia), Astra International Tbk., PT Hengjaya Mineralindo dan RiverRecycle Oy.   Para penerima Award4Change dijamu gallery tour menikmati karya-karya seniman kelas dunia dari berbagai bangsa, diantaranya dari Indonesia, Jerman, AS, Thailand yang semua karyanya menggunakan material daur ulang atau ramah lingkungan.  Dalam rangkaian acara di hari pertama, juga dirilis Kesepakatan Kolaborasi antara Waste4Change dengan Pituku Cordova International.
